Trijata: The Guardian Angel of Maa Sita in Ashok Vatika

Maa Sita

In the dark days of captivity in Ashok Vatika, when Maa Sita was surrounded by cruel Rakshasis, one soul stood apart – Trijata. Trijata was an old Rakshasi assigned to guard Maa Sita. But her heart was pure. She had divine dreams and a deep faith in Dharma. While others mocked and threatened Maa Sita, Trijata became her protector and friend.

The Divine Bond

Every night, when the other guards slept, Trijata would sit near Maa Sita under the Ashoka Tree. She consoled her, gave her hope, and told her that Lord Ram would surely come.

The most beautiful moment came when Trijata had a dream. She saw Lord Ram’s victory, Ravana’s fall, and Maa Sita’s freedom. With tears in her eyes, she told Maa Sita: “Mother, do not worry. This is all Maya. Your Lord is coming. Dharma will win. That one sentence gave Maa Sita the strength to wait for 10 months with patience.

Trijata is the proof that even in Lanka, the land of Ravana, there was light. There was compassion. There was Sanatan Dharma. This is why in SITOTSAV 2026 at Ashok Vatika, we honor not just Maa Sita’s patience, but also Trijata’s faith.
